I can see why. I don't consider, for example, Hellshing as a seinen, but many people do. Same goes for Evangelion, Berserk, Shigurui, Serial Experiments Lain, etc. These animes don't show you things that a teen couldn't understand. Why would they be seinen, then?

Disagree with both. The original shonen is, imo, Hokuto no ken (the manga is good, the anime is killed by the filler). Dragon Ball, as a whole, is good until the end of the Freezer saga. After that arc, it goes downhill.
