Why do people like drinking bear?

Whenever I go to an occasion I get invited for a drink and I usually get offered a beer as I'm pretty young myself but I can't just bring myself to like it lol it's bitter and tastes like absolute arse

Only German and Japanese beer is worth drinking ,along with Singaporean Tiger beer but yeah everything else tastes pretty bitter and it comes with minimum enjoyment
