Why do people like sports so much

I don't really understand the appeal of sitting down and watching sports for literal hours. I understand playing sports, and I guess also sport video games but actually watching sports is so boring.

It's genuinely just so boring to watch especially since I really couldn't care who wins. None of the players know who you are and it just doesn't matter.

sport is like a videogame, if ur interested then u will obviously watch the gameplay. im not gonna watch fortnite gameplay if i dont play it am i? its gonna be boring af. maybe watch a sport you actually like and play yourself. theres no really big golf fans who dont play theirselves is there? no there isnt
