Cutting your self is self harm. Do you want to be harmed? It is addictive and you will need to do it more and more to get the same effect. It does not solve the underlying issues like anxiety and depression that make you do it. I’ve done it at times when I was depressed. It kind of feels like an opioid but your brain does it naturally. And usually you don’t feel the cuttting which is a bit weird but that’s how it is. Then for a little while you feel a bit high in your brain and no other feelings which is why people do it. Of course it is not ideal for obvious reasons but it just is very effective, much more than all the alternatives psychiatrists tell you. So thats why I’ve done it at times. Not atm because I deal with things better now. Yes there are some scars but for me they aren’t very obvious. I see why people say it’s dumb but when people do it they arent going to be thinking very logically about it like a sane person .
