Why do people think facial hair is attractive

It looks disgusting 99% of the time, makes you look older, and it always looks like pubes. one of my friends asked me why I don't grow a beard, because why the fuck would I do that?

It only looks good on older black guys, that's pretty much it.

I mean it depends, if you look really feminine, or you have a shitty lower third it can help mask the issue. Didn't some research or whatever suggest women prefer men with a stubble, with being clean-shaven being the second most attractive?

A stubble looks good on me apparently, I have tried being clean-shaven and people just tell me to grow it back. But I guess it's because I'm a black guy.
