Why do people think high iq= superior?

iq doesn’t rlly define anything, yeah you can do better then the average in complex themes and think complex about things, be good at math, learn things faster, but that doesn’t sound like superiority to me at all. The real superior people are athletes, very creative artists… and so on. For example you probably know many high iq persons in you’re social circle, but there are only a few people in this world who can drive formula 1, play at Real Madrid, get into the ufc, be a music star… and so on. THOSE people are the real superior humans.
