The #1 excuse I hear is "I need to get out of the house, I can't live with my parents anymore!" Well boo-hoo, get a part time job and rent an apartment with some people. It'll still be cheaper than college room & board (10k for 9 months in a broom closet and shitty cafeteria food can kiss my ass).
