why do ppl get djs?

before you call me retarded just hear me out, if someone has a recessed mid face like me, why do they get djs? it brings your maxilla (upper lip) and mandible foward, yea but your mid face remains the same, if not it looks more hollow since the upper lip is foward and now the midface recession is more noticeable, not to mention that shit is literally 50k and and it doesn’t improve your ramus length and chin projection (it does but not that much). i feel like getting implants is a qay better option but if you think im wrong just lmk im open for discussions
