Why do ppl think that braces causes recession, when it clearly doesn’t

Yea i get it, but braces don’t cause recession after all, u were already recessed

premolar removal then braces is the issue, I had 4 pre molars removed then braces. I ask the doctor to compare my X-rays from before and after and even with me being a lot old and grown u could see recession that wasn’t there before

Extractions aren’t the same as braces, but yeah, extractions do cause recession, but in some cases they can help u out, for example if u got an elevated level of biprotrusion. But nowadays u can ask ur dentist to “wear” ur teeth so u don’t need to get them extracted and can get rid of biprotrusion
