Why do so many Anglos have light blue eyes?

Have been watching a lot of British TV shows lately and I've noticed light blue eyes are a lot more common in the UK. Any particular reason why they do? Also Anglos are quite pale, paler than even Nordics in fact.

Yeah but Blue eyes look more aesthetic. People prefer them more.

It was selected for by Indo Europeans. Also Western Hunter Gatherers make up a lot of their genome, and blue eyes probably originated with them.

Light green like Barrett is maybe better than blue but that's rare.
