Why do SQUISHYfoids (especially Mainland Chinese and South Korean) like to dress like old Hollywood actresses in balls and formal parties?

At a very large uni ball I went to the Asian (mainland Chinese/Korean) foids were in a circle with only other NE Asians dressing similar to this:

whereas white girls (as well as westernised Asians, black girls, Hindus) were dressed similar to:

Practicing Muslim girls were covered head to toe.

Fiancee had a small bachelorette (halal) party in which she invited a few friends and showed me pics. In there was one Asian girl (looked NEA) who mogged everyone (except my fiancee of course) in terms of fashion - legit wore a dress with matching gloves and a hat. Almost everyone else except the sole white foid came in modest clothing.
