Why do they write "peadophile" instead of "pedophile" in the U.K.?

I just seen this today in a news article about Gary Glitter. It enrages me. It's like back in the early 2000's when some Americans started saying "melk" instead of "milk". I'd like the round up all the people who say "melk" and have them executed.
