Apparently, Mansa Musa was the richest man of all time. He was obviously some kind of Black African, per every historical account and depiction of him ever.

The Mali empire and Mansa Musa's immense wealth was basically sustained by the natural resources there. It's not a significant accomplishment to just have a bunch of gold lying around, is it? It's not even like the Mali Empire ever influenced or innovated anything significant outside of Africa...
