Famous movie, well-known scene. Murder suspect Catherine Tramell (played by Sharon Stone) is being interrogated when she decides to show her vagina to "daze" the detectives (typical neo-noir femme fatale sexual lure). Every simp in the comments is mentioning how "empowering" that scene is:
I don't really get the reasoning behind this train of thought. Showing sex organ => having "power".
Ignoring the obvious (e.g. it's a movie, IRL there wouldn't be some fat detective sweating like a pig, grown men don't behave like this, she would've been charged with indecent exposure, in the worst dystopian case they'd have gangraped her and gotten away with it, etc.) this scene wasn't even consented by her, or that's what she claims. So it's actually the opposite to what most people think.
There are two versions of how the famous scene happened. According to the director of the film, Paul Verhoeven, Stone knew perfectly well what she was doing and was delighted with the perverse situation. According to the actress, the director exploited her. “When we shot it, it was going to be a hint,” says Stone, “but [Verhoeven] told me: ‘You can see the white of your underwear, I need you to take it off.’ He assured me that nothing would be seen. So I took off my underwear and put it in my shirt pocket.”
So far, both versions of the story coincide. The conflict arises when, at the end of the shoot, the director and the actress analysed the scene in question. “At that time, there was no high definition”, continues the actress, “so when I looked at the monitor, I really did not see anything.” Everything changed when Stone, the crew, and the whole world saw the film on a giant movie screen.
This type of movies are what I call "cope dramas". They're all cope. Like Django, Inglorious Bastards, etc. all movies in which the IRL victim is pictured as some avenger that defeats the establishment. In Django the nigger kills like a thousand hillbillies and slave owners without receiving one bullet after multiple gunfights (IRL they'd have whipped him to death). Inglorious Bastards has some jewish girl blow up a cinema with the high hierarchy nazis inside (IRL she'd have been gassed). And this movie has some woman showing her pussy in a room full of cops that wouldn't even flinch IRL, and in the worst case could've groped her with no repercussions either.
What's next? A movie about Elliott Rodger's life in which he kills all good looking people and conquers America to become the unanimous supreme gentleman (so the .co incels don't lose hope).
“I was in a state of shock,” says Stone. “At the end of the movie, I got up, walked over to Paul Verhoeven and slapped him.”
