This is akin to going around a couple blocks in San Francisco and asking women "have you ever caught your husband watching gay porn?" and "what is his race?" and then concluding that because of the 35 couples you asked, white American men are 3x more likely to watch gay porn than black men.

There are several studies reporting adverse effects but there are actually a good amount of men who report either minimal change or even improved sexual sensation/function after the procedure. For this subject the most high-powered studies are randomized controlled trials where men are asked to directly compare the before and after.

Examples would be:

The simple fact is the foreskin is where most of the pleasurable nerve endings are. If you remove that, you therefore enjoy sex less, period, and this isn't even including the other adverse effects from circumcision, namely:

- Most circumcised men have shaft skin that is so tight while erect that the hair from their testes gets pulled up onto the shaft, as a result of so much skin being removed. This also means friction from the hands can often cause micro-tears in the skin which are painful as fuck.
- Many men have a circumcision scarline which is often raw and uncomfortable to the touch post-OP and which can be irritated by masturbation. The skin usually goes from being smooth and healthy to rough, dry and chapped.

- A lot of the studies people mention look at men who were only circumcised in the last couple of years, therefore not enough time has passed to see the real impact, as the glans becomes more desensitised over time.
- The studies often don't mention what the starting base was of the men who got cut - did they have phimosis before? Or a normal working foreskin? If they had phimosis, obviously anything is an improvement on that... but for the guys who had a normal foreskin, I bet they felt a lot less after.

I assume you're thinking about getting cut. Please don't do it, for your own sake. If you think about it, here's your options:
- You either try and solve the phimosis without getting cut and potentially have a normal fully working cock
- Or you get it cut off and you'll never know what you could've done and potentially ruin your sexual pleasure for the rest of your life.

I can spare you the time and energy on finding confounding studies because I've already reviewed all existing current literature on this subject.
I explained in previous posts that I have massive scar tissue in the phimotic ring because of overaggressive stretching as a teenager. I've been stretching for over 7 years now with no progress with rings, exercises etc.
In the majority of RCTs on this subject men with any penile problems eg phimosis or micropenis were excluded from participating so that is not a factor.
I completely agree that sensitivity loss is logical however both studies and many anecdotal data shows increased satisfaction
The post-op long-term pain thing is debunked by the multiple studies showing about 0.5% less incidence of sexual pain in men post-op compared to before at the 2 year mark
I do not plan on getting cut anytime soon and am looking into preputioplasty or dorsal slit but there is a lot of MYTHOLOGY on this subject rather than OBJECTIVITY which has made my research more difficult

The simple fact is the foreskin is where most of the pleasurable nerve endings are.

For me personally my foreskin just feels like skin, no different from the rest of the shaft but I have severe pinhole phimosis so that may be a factor here. Please provide evidence on where you got this idea, if you can provide legit evidence of this it will certainly affect my decision because I have not seen this anywhere

I also can't help but disagree with most of the "post-op" problems and suffering you described because I have been following r/circumcision on reddit for almost 3 years now and have read hundreds of positive posts documenting recovery from day 1 all the way to 2 years post op.

You are clearly grappling quite hard with this decision because you know the facts are not as clear cut (no pun intended) as you'd hoped.

Get a dorsal slit or some other less invasive procedure, that way it's a win-win situation. Seems obvious to me.

Yes in fact I've scheduled consultations then operation dates but pussied out the day of. I find it psychologically incredibly difficult to undergo this risk having observed this procedure myself as a medical student
