Buddhism teaches that suffering (dukkha) is an inevitable part of life, but it can be overcome by following the Four Noble Truths:
- Life involves suffering (dukkha).
- Suffering is caused by desire and attachment (tanha).
- There is a way to end suffering (nirvana).
- The way to end suffering is by following the Eightfold Path.
- Right View (understanding the truth of suffering)
- Right Intention (having good motives)
- Right Speech (speaking truthfully and kindly)
- Right Action (acting ethically)
- Right Livelihood (having a moral job)
- Right Effort (avoiding bad thoughts)
- Right Mindfulness (being aware and present)
- Right Concentration (meditation for mental focus)
- In Indian Buddhism, the swastika is associated with the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) and the wheel of life.
- In Chinese and Japanese Buddhism, the symbol (often left-facing, 卍) represents infinity, harmony, and the balance of opposites.
