Why does depression feel so welcoming

Whenever I have short-term depression or a pregabalin withdrawal, I feel like shit and want to kms. Once it is gone sometimes I wish it was back for some reason.

The feeling feels so welcoming for some reason, maybe because I reflect a lot on my problems when I am on withdrawal. It feels like home because I genuinely feel like who I truly am in that moment.

Does anyone experience this? Lowkey having an anxiety attack right now for whatever reason. I was being pretty social today
