A long time ago I was friends with this girl, she was 5'2 blone, blue eyed and strict christian. We were close friends, and eventually we both grew really attached and were dating. When I mean she was a strict christian, she used to go church every sunday to volunteer and help out, she was kind but quite immature looking back on it (so was I, but we were 18 what more could you expect?). Anyways this was the 1st time for both of us where we deeply liked the other person, weird to describe but I didn't feel empty, and I never felt like things could go down - delusional really but that's okay. She was there for me at my lowest point in my life when my older brother overdosed and I felt awful about it (he survived overdose).

Anyways, I learnt that I had issues and shit because she'd sometimes cry and it would make me incredibly aroused - fuck knows why man my older brother has the exact same issue. Like once I said some shit like "you aren't special", she started crying and normally I never feel bad about these things. But I acc felt bad, and gave her a hug and kiss and told her I didn't mean it - she looked at me with her big blue eyes and boom I felt fucking aroused.

But to carry on, we got into an argument and mutually agreed to breakup. The next few months were the most depressed I felt for a while, waking up and in tears because I saw her in my dreams etc. I ended up blocking on her social media and she tried seeking me out via friends (we share social circle), and she wanted to talk to me.

But I had already made my mind, I don't want to get together. I realised that the love I felt was some sort sickness, I truly believed everything was going okay, I became complacent/lazy. I also realised how much control a single person had over my life, I've never cried waking up of thinking of losing someone. I hated the level of control I had given her over me.

Anyways needless to say, I've now adopted a fucked up policy where I refuse to get too close to a woman so I can avoid the heartbreak, it's why I ghost a lot of girls. I end up thinking "what if I end up actually liking them? Do I really think I can stay with such a person etc" and then I heard when you fuck you end up being super attached - srs fuck that.

So yeah I just don't want to be controlled by another woman, hence I actually somewhat avoid them and fuck myself over.

I'm still friends with my ex, she isn't a bad person but she still has clear feelings for me. But I'd rather not fuck her life up and her bf's life up, he seems like an okay guy - but it's obvious she is bored
