Why does it feel like everyone in the 60s/early 70s were skinny?

Whenever I watch footage of live music from this time it feels like I never see a fat person, ofc you see what I guess you would call “skinny fat” people but at this time bodybuilding wasn’t popular at all. Is it an indicator of changes in food? Like ingredients and chemicals? Because surely stuff like sweets, chocolate and fried foods were still popular, no? Maybe I’m retarded.
Looks at these handsome young chaps, especially David Gilmour and Roger Waters.
Roger Waters 👇

Look at the veins on his forearms.
He’s the guy playing with the synthesiser in the video

Listen to what these guys are eating “eggs, sausage, chips (french fries) and beans’ and they had Apple pie with ice cream for dessert

David Gilmour the guy playing the guitar in this video, look at his arms… never picked up a dumbbell in his life

some crowd footage

you can search for yourself too, just type in a band or musician from this era and type “crowd” next to it and you’ll see the results.

Being fat should be illegal, if you are fat the police should raid your house take you outside and shoot you in the head.

Very long to explain, but short answer is PUFA and sugar, fast foods and stuff, fast food only started getting popular in the 80's

No a better solution is sending them to a labor camp to transport rocks all day for literally no reason, if they refuse to transport the same rock for the 456 time, then bullet to the head :feelsgood:

That much of a drastic change? Like in terms of PUFA and sugar? Of course I understand the fast food thing

Basically if you see the obesity rates in Europe the countries with the least obesity are the ones where fast food chains still aren't operating.

Bosnia is the leanest place in Europe and they still don't have a McDonald's

This. Were being poisoned by what modern culture deems to be a 'normal diet', 'normal lifestyle'.

Normality = distortion.

People are fatter indeed, not just your perception

"The average weight for men aged 20-74 years rose dramatically from 166.3 pounds in 1960 to 191 pounds in 2002, while the average weight for women the same age increased from 140.2 pounds in 1960 to 164.3 pounds in 2002."

"The report, Mean Body Weight, Height, and Body Mass Index (BMI) 1960-2002: United States, prepared by CDC's National Center for Health Statistics, shows that the average height of a man aged 20-74 years increased from just over 5'8" in 1960 to 5'9½" in 2002, while the average height of a woman the same age increased from slightly over 5'3" 1960 to 5'4" in 2002."

Until the 70's there wasn't that much takeaway food like today for cheap, people now rarely cook at home and rather buy fast food or other takeaway foods.

Btw PUFA's have a special chemical in it that drastically raises grehlin, the hunger hormone, and fast food companies know about this, so PUFA + sugar (grehlin + dopamine) giga win for them :feelshah:
