Why does my medial canthus look sharper from further away?

Like why does my downward pointing medial canthus look sharper from further away. I notice in selfies and even Andreas Eriksen has this as well. The medial canthus looks sharper in candid shots compared to selfies

because up close in a mirror or photo your u know... close but when you move further away everything gets bigger. Same thing as your face is 2x as wide standing 5 feet from a mirror then right infront of it
