Why don’t Hispanics claim to be white?

Besides Brazilians Dominicans and Panamanians most Hispanics are mostly white. Puerto Rican‘s are on average 65 -80percent spaniard but they are not considered white but a black American is on average 75-85 percent African yet we consider black Americans black but we don’t consider Cubans purto Ricans and some Mexicans white?

Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador are >80% non-white, most are mestizos or indigenous. Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Nicaragua are at least 40-50% non-white.

Hispanic is a U.S. term for people from Spanish-speaking countries, that's all. It says nothing about race or ethnicity.

The people from Spanish-speaking countries who are white already call themselves white, but it's absurd to call all Hispanics white, as they aren't.

The only countries/regions in LATAM that are really white are Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and South Brazil. Most places outside are very mixed and have very few whites.

If you’re any part non white you’re considered not white

Also spaniards and like portuguese are the only white ones, latinos aren’t white

I'm 52% white, my face have native american features, my height is 6'1 and my skin is light like Richard Ramirez. I always say i'm hispanic, in order to consider me white i need a full white phenotype.
