The male version of heels are called boots. The phenomenon of men wearing boots was pointed out to me by a friend at a night club circa 1990. He said something like "what is up with men wearing boots at clubs?". I had not noticed, and didn't have an answer. I was probably unaware of the practice of height frauding using boots because I was 6' (I shrank and am now 5'11"). He probably noticed because he was only 5'9".
