1. Fast and quick death. All the suffering at once but quick release of death.
2. Long drawn out suffering of social rejection, disability and limitation. Slow death, very prolonged.

Which is more humane? I’d say number 1 but not as extreme. Maybe just drug them with nembutal so the death is painless. Society likes to make the suffering long and drawn out though.

My main issue isn’t with fixing deformities or optimizing attributes of the next generation but what happens to the residual generations like us who didn’t enjoy any of these advantages and now have to compete with them!

We are actually doing this, I read a book by Siddhartha Mukherjee called The Song of the Cell where in one chapter he goes over the history of modifying the genes and what is being researched about.

If I remember correctly a researcher/doctor in Russia is modifying the genes where both parents have a gene making the child deaf

There are more documented cases but I think it is a matter of time before we actually start doing it

Eugenics is the most important issue of our species. If not implemented, we will succumb to irreversible genetic deterioration, leading to our extinction.
