Like why would you mainly focus on one aspect of the sport when you just train it all and do you pick one style and master that one?? It’s like practice hockey but mainly practice ice skating? It jsut doesn’t make sense

It’s best to work on your strengths rather than trying to get good at everything.

you can't compare hockey to a combat sport

what are you talking about current mma is so different from the origins it is not a specialist sport anymore. Most of successful mma athletes are good at everything. Why do you think submissions are less common at the top levels of competitions than before? because bjj is so critical in mma that every top level mma athlete must possess super refined grappling skills, so the majority of them cancel each other in that regard when they fight. Specialists do not thrive in modern mma, just rare exceptions.

they do train everything

they just come from individual background and train based on their next fight
