Why don't people just jut to fix an overjet?

Is it bad for your jaw joint or something? Cos otherwise instead of getting treatment you can just permanently jut.

Copeandrope said something about facepulling giving an overjet and then u can permajut to fix it

Even if the teeth occlude it looks weird since the body of the mandible is still too short

Fuarck I wanna facepull but don't wanna end up with an overjet

Doesn't the mandible follow the maxilla?
Supposedly, but that would just be the same outcome as jutting, unless there was an upswing. And copeandrope, the inventor of one facepuller, said it could lead to an overjet

A little bit. If you try to hold an occluding bite u have better chances

Dislocates your jaw joints

Isn't that the same outcome with facepulling then? If ur maxilla comes forward, your jaw is gonna be left behind unless theres an upswing

But braces don’t fix this shortness either, if anything, they keep you looking recessed while just making teeth fit together through alveolar cuckoflage which I unfortunately got. Screw braces

Facepulling pulls your maxilla forward. You’re jutting your lower jaw forward and when your maxilla goes forward your mandible will rotate itself to settle the teeth better.

It will rotate only if the maxilla comes forward AND up. So basically you need to pull at an upwards angle to hope it moves it then direction, making room for the mandible to swing closed

When the maxilla moves forward there will be room for the mandible to move upward and forward. But yes, it would be more efficient with a maxilla CCW rotation as well

Because you're not truly 'correcting' it, you're just disguising the issue.

It looks retarded as fuck to most people as well, and it's easy as shit to notice.
