Eyebrows are often overlooked by many men, despite having a significant impact on overall facial appearance, much like getting a different haircut.
So, why do eyebrows matter?
Firstly, there are evolutionary factors behind their importance, which I will discuss in more detail later. Secondly, eyebrows serve as a key facial identifier. If you suddenly shaved off your eyebrows, people might have difficulty recognizing you, whereas the same would be less likely to happen after simply getting a buzz cut. This suggests that even a small change in the eyebrows can influence how people perceive a face.

The evolutionary significance of eyebrow thickness is similar to that of features such as a prominent brow ridge and high-set cheekbones. These traits are thought to have provided additional protection for the eyes during activities such as hunting and fighting in early human history.
Therefore, eyebrows should generally be thick, but not excessively thick, as overly thick eyebrows can look disproportionate or unnatural.
Example of low set eyebrows
Example of high-set eyebrows
Start removing hairs where your brows begin to arch downward if you want to make them straighter. If you want to create a positive tilt, you first need to encourage hair growth in the appropriate areas using any of the methods mentioned above.
Make sure to shape your brows symmetrically. This can be made easier by using a reversed mirror, although a normal mirror works fine as well.
Never overdo your eyebrows. Doing so can make them look unnatural. If you want, you can also brush your eyebrows to make them look neat and well-groomed.

The shape
Eyebrows come in various shapes, and they all impact your face differently. So which is the ideal shape for men? The answer is flat eyebrows, no matter which face shape you have. You want your eye area to be as compact as possible, as this creates an image of “hunter” eyes, something which is perceived as an alpha trait. Therefore, having round shaped eyebrows will make you look worse. The Thickness
Eyebrow thickness is also an important factor, as thicker eyebrows are generally perceived as more masculine, while thinner eyebrows are often associated with a more feminine appearance. The evolutionary significance of eyebrow thickness is similar to that of features such as a prominent brow ridge and high-set cheekbones. The outer length
Your eyebrows should at least reach the outer part of your eyelids. Preferably, they should extend beyond that, to your cheekbones or slightly further. Here is an example:The inner length
The inner parts of your eyebrows should be parallell to your nostrils. Having a bigger gap between your eyebrows makes them look more feminine. The set
The closer your eyebrows are set to your eyes, the better. There are few ways to change the set of your eyebrows besides surgery, which I will discuss later. You can still be good looking even with high set eyebrows, however, you will be missing that “masculine” look due to the increased height in your eye area.Example of low set eyebrows

The Density
Having eyebrows with higher density can make the face appear more attractive, while lower-density eyebrows may have the opposite effect. This applies to females as well. The Tilt
Negatively tilted eyebrows can make the overall eye area look worse. Ideally, the eyebrows should have either a neutral or positive tilt, depending on the overall harmony and proportions of the face. The Color
Black or dark brown is ideal, as it can create the appearance of greater eyebrow density. If you are blonde, you could consider dyeing your eyebrows a slightly darker shade. The Growth
If you have thin eyebrows, you can:- Use minoxidil.
- Use castor oil.
- Use Latisse.
- Try microneedling in combination with castor oil or hyaluronic acid.
The Grooming
If you already have thick and dense eyebrows, you can groom them using tweezers.Start removing hairs where your brows begin to arch downward if you want to make them straighter. Surgeries
- To make your eyebrows sit lower, you could consider a reverse brow lift.
- An eyebrow transplant can be used to increase eyebrow density and extend the outer portion of the brows.
