I had an underbite corrected with bimax. but genio on top of it ascended me so hard

The difference a genio can make to the overall contour and forward grown appearance of your mandible is substantial

I had my chin shortened and advanced and when it was revealed after removing the plaster a few days later I felt like a different person.
Despite the halo brought by maxillary advancement, it is really just correcting a flaw and bringing you to a nice baseline

Genio on the otherhand can sculpt an aesthetic outcome that can give you quite a rare level of aesthetics, it's true customization as opposed to just correction.

Since chin movements for the most aesthetic outcome are subjective, if you get a good surgeon who nails the positioning, it just works to complete the face

Yes bite issues are a bigger issue than having a slightly recessed chin with a normal bite, but if your bite is normal and you can go from a weak chin to a near perfect chin that completes your face, it really isn't a big investment compared to other surgeries

If you have a chin with massive vertical height that's lacking in projection like mine was, a genio is a major tool for ascension

mirin happy for you

basically learn about the mentolabial fold and the allignment of the lips. Easy way to tell is just morphing the chin forward in a photo and assessing harmony. If we don't do bsso and only do genio the chin comes forward and the mentolabial forward gets deeper and your lips are misalligned still so you just look retarded

thank you for the high effort response bhai  your input on this is valuable

i kind of just started shitting on genio for no reason but the main takeaway is supposed to be if youre mandible is recessed dont get a genio to just fix the chin projection because youll still look like shit and aligning your bite is first priority

but i think ofcourse if you have the money then get genio but as long as your bite it normal a genio wont add that much and its better to use that money for other things e.g. orbital fat grafts which will have a much greater roi
