Firstly what is ghkcu?
ghcku commonly known as the copper peptide first discovered in 1973 by Loren Pickart while studying blood plasma Loren pickart found a small natrually occurring peptide GHK ( glycyl-L-lysine ) which he saw stimulated tissue repair ( which is the foundation of collagen which is what we want)
later on he discovered the peptide ( GHK) bonds to copper ions which is what makes GHKCU the peptide known by most. in the studies we have about ghkcu we see how it is primary function is to repair skin / restore skin elasticity it does this by signaling cells (fibroblast ) to produce more collagen , elastin and glycosaminoglycans . these 3 are important for building healthy tight young skin

Collogen = strength
elastin = being able to stretch and return to its normal state
glycosaminoglycans = helps skin stay hydrated

all this sounds good in practice BUT
this genuinely sounds like a miracle anti aging product, don't get me wrong its decent but ones you see the full picture comes apart. according to studies it takes around a few months to even notice any actual visble skin results. 8-12 weeks but many online reports show that it takes Months to even show results. many people over estimate this compounds making it seem like a miracle drug yes it is decent at what it does but for the effort it really isnt worth it in my opinion . as well as most of these studies being conducted on topical NOT sub q and most sub q studies were conducted on animals meaning the human to rat ratio dosing is completely different, as well as topical being almost as affective as sub q REAL TOPICAL not that 00.5 tiktok bullshit. as well as the copper in the peptide being super fragile to sulfates making it degrade faster than most other peptides

better options for the price
such as retinoids / accutane spending hundreds of dollars over the span of months to get minimal results, retinoids completely MOG in every way. faster acting, better results, cheaper MOGS in every sinlge way tiktok has made this compound seem like a god tier god when it really is just a mediocre compound , in my opinion just save yourself the time and money and buy retinoids or just go accutane these compounds are life changing if your srs about ur skin :feelsohh:

i got really bored at 2 am and just made a shitty thread :feelskek:

TLDR
SHIT IS COPE

permanent dry eye risk with topical vitamin a. theres also risk of facial fat loss, which many threads here have mentioned. also, increase of sun sensitivity due to thinning of the outermost layer of the skin.

prefer ghk at the right % and once a day, minimizing the risk of "copper peptide uglies".

These only only happen if your dumb with those compounds , easy habits and you can completely avoid those sides

increase of sun sensitivity is really good unless you love seed oils, i use retanoid every morning and i am in the sun for ages, theres only a little bit of redness but doesnt look bad. you kinda have to test how youre skin reacts
