Some people have an easier time at hard work than others. Working hard isn’t all that hard to them compared to others. Everyone has different mental stamina for these sort of things.

And, same as a innate talent, this thing is born into you. You can't change it.

So the idea that a society where you can be successful through hardwork and are unsuccessful if you are lazy being fair, is a illusion.
