the first south asian champ will be someone who grows up in the west. the reason the dagestanis dominate is because they have so much experience with combat sambo. the fight game has progressed to the point where most fighters who make it to the highest level must be training in a serious camp from childhood

Even if he didnt go to those french camps he would still make it because of his insane power, his technique is mid at best but he became a ufc champ and even made the "goat" jon jones duck him because of his insane cameroon genetics that made him crazy powerful.
