Exaggerated, for the first year after surgery, yes your jaw will be weak as fuck so avoid fights like the plague, but after a year or so it starts to get back to normal. I'm unaware if it could ever be as strong as it was before, or stronger after surgery, but it does heal up pretty well after some time.

Maybe taking supplements, doing jaw workouts, and drinking a shit ton of milk might help the bone grow back stronger than before but idk, I'll bring that up with a surgeon when I get my consultation.

Fighters who have gotten a lefort fracture in their jaw bone during a fight would also be good to look at, see if they were able to continue fighting and still tank punches in the jaw years after.
