He is a great actor and ascended alot by performing dark scientology rituals. I think the scientology background makes him too controversial. Or he is just not good enough compared to others.

Most of the movies he makes are commercial action-adventure movies that aren't Oscar material. When he acted in more serious films, he had bad luck and lost to other better acting performances.
