If Asians have mono lids to protect from harsh weather Europe had just as bad if not even worse weather back then

Europeans and Asians location is very similar why did they evolve differently?

but what intrigues me is how humans can evolve differently despite being in similar environments

Only plausible explanation I have is sexual selection since those eyes aren’t attractive in Europe

We see things like men maintaining beard’s despite not needing them anymore just to increase sexual selection so it’s also á important factor

Evolution is driven only based on one thing which is reproduction. If a trait allows you to have more offspring and you get to reproduce it that drives evolution.
In this case Asians who reproduced from the same gene pool, in an environment where monolids allowed them to thrive more have gotten to evolve into today's Asiatic races.
As opposed to Europeans who did not go through this pattern, either they didn't need monolids, something else replaced it or they didn't get to reproduce enough.
