Why have I been hit on more by gays than women ?

Especially when I was younger and in better shape , I got hit on by homosexuals. It's puzzling because I'm as heterosexual as can be. I don't know what kind of vibes I was giving. I got called handsome by some females but they didn't really seem that interested as the men.

Gay guys are often more picky about looks than women are. It makes no sense
