Introduction:

I have seen many questions regarding HCG and unlike pinning test and TRT in general. Not many people have a full understanding of it's importance when cycling. Even mainstream bodybuilding forums fail to highlight it's importance. But It is a mandatory compound for anyone who wants to hop on a prolonged cycle.

(Note: HMG in my opinion is superior to HCG though harder to come by but that's a story for another day.)

Reasons:

Preventing Testicular Atrophy and Fibrosis

Prolonged use of external testosterone can suppress natural testosterone production, leading to testicular atrophy, where the testes shrink. This atrophy, if prolonged, may increase the risk of fibrosis, a condition where excess fibrous tissue forms, potentially causing permanent damage. HCG stimulates the testes to produce testosterone, helping maintain their size and function, thus reducing the risk of atrophy and possible fibrosis.

Preserving Fertility

HCG is crucial for men who want to maintain fertility, as testosterone therapy alone can reduce testicular volume and sperm production, potentially leading to infertility. By keeping the testes active, HCG helps preserve sperm production, which is important for future family planning.

Supporting Hormone Balance and Brain Health

HCG supports adrenal DHEA production, a hormone linked to brain function. Some studies suggest long-term high-dose testosterone use, like anabolic steroids, is associated with brain aging, possibly due to altered DHEA and Pregnanolone levels. While the connection is complex, HCG’s role in maintaining natural hormone production could help mitigate these effects.

Some people when on HCG are able to hop off of steroids without feeling any suppression due to their use.

Preventing Testicular Atrophy and Fibrosis

Prolonged use of external testosterone is known to cause testicular atrophy, as the testes receive less stimulation to produce testosterone. Research indicates that this atrophy can, over time, lead to fibrosis, where excess fibrous tissue forms, potentially making the condition irreversible. For instance, studies on conditions like cystic fibrosis have shown testicular atrophy associated with fibrotic tissue, suggesting a similar risk with prolonged suppression A case of testicular atrophy associated with cystic fibrosis. HCG helps by stimulating the Leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone, maintaining testicular size and function, thus preventing atrophy and reducing the likelihood of fibrosis.

Maintaining Fertility

Fertility is is one of the biggest drawbacks when using testosterone, as it suppresses sperm production by reducing intratesticular testosterone levels. HCG is vital here, as it preserves testicular function, ensuring continued sperm production. This is particularly important for men who may wish to conceive in the future, as testosterone therapy alone can lead to infertility within weeks due to alterations in the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis Reasons to Use hCG with TRT. By mimicking LH, HCG helps maintain fertility, making it a key component for those balancing therapy with reproductive goals.

Supporting Adrenal Function and DHEA Production

DHEA, primarily produced by the adrenal glands, is a precursor to testosterone and other hormones, and is crucial for brain health. Research suggests that long-term use of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS), which includes high-dose testosterone, is associated with deviant brain aging, potentially due to altered DHEA levels Long-term Anabolic–Androgenic Steroid Use Is Associated With Deviant Brain Aging. HCG’s role extends beyond the testes; studies show it can stimulate adrenal DHEA production by activating LH/hCG receptors in adrenal cells, potentially supporting brain function Functional Luteinizing Hormone/Chorionic Gonadotropin Receptors in Human Adrenal Cortical H295R Cells. While the direct link to Pregnanolone (a neurosteroid derived from progesterone) is less clear, maintaining DHEA levels could indirectly support related pathways, though more research is needed.

Balancing Hormone Levels

HCG helps maintain overall hormonal balance by preventing the suppression of natural hormone production. When external testosterone is used, it can down-regulate precursors like DHEA and Pregnenolone, affecting various bodily functions. By stimulating both testicular and adrenal hormone production, HCG ensures a more balanced hormonal environment, potentially reducing side effects like mood changes or cognitive decline associated with imbalances.

High IQ reply. Agree much harder to come by hmg though might need to ask my supplier if they can create it as well. HCG does interact with the LHCG receptor but also to a lesser extent FSH receptor. FSH is more related to fertility while LH is related to testicular function for endogenous testosterone production. As I noted in my post, the ideal would be running HMG.
(Note: HMG in my opinion is superior to HCG though harder to come by but that's a story for another day.)

HCG is actually pretty convenient. pinning daily is unnecessary you should be pinning ideally on a MWF basis 250 IU - 500 IU x3 per week depending on your response. Much easier to pin than test because it is not a carrier oil but stored in water based carrier so no post injection pain or inflammation. I don't really get this when no one complains about injecting test or any other compound.

Regardless I think there is a good basis for supplementing DHEA and pregnanolone.

depends how much you're taking I guess but I'd personally take it to ensure you stay fertile, just don't overdo it since you run the risk of estrogenic effects.

people worry way too much about estrogenic effects of hcg, realistically you won't experience any on a low-moderate dose.

Further reading into each part

Side effects of HCG:
- Increased estrogen production which may be of concern though Estrogen is a neuroprotective compund associated with drive and mood. It is not necessarily a bad thing. If it is an issue, perfect excuse to add Primo EQ or Mast...
- Increased Libido (You will want to fuck more so than low dose Test)
- Additional expenses and pinning

------------
TLDR

If you aren't roidmaxxing in 2025 you're a retard.
