Most anime is so cringe except for Death Note, but that's only because it's not so focused on crazy shit as much as it is telling a complex, coherent story with deep characters and morals. But yeah any time someone tells me they watch MHA, DBZ, or naruto I actually wanna kms. Oh also the cyberpunk anime was pretty good but once again just like 10 episodes.

Death Note is like one of the most egregious examples of somebody stupid trying to write "genius" characters. Cool aesthetic and premise but absolutely stupid plot.

Ok that's fair. Near the start it just becomes convoluted because it's always just L saying "i thought of x" and then light just goes "aha but I knew you thought of x and did y" and then it goes back to L "but I knew you thought that I thought of that and did z". Also Light is a total cuck considering he can't do shit without L suspecting him to be kira. The symbolism, soundtrack, and premise is still top tier

Generally speaking, anime is pretty cringe. I would say there are some exceptions though.

If you watch it by yourself, the cringe doubles up.
I watched the entirety of Naruto with two of my friends while we were living in a house together working on a project. We'd watch like 2-3 episodes a day until we finished all of them with the exception of fillers. It can be a good experience.
