Many people here are so isolated from society and have almost no contact in their daily lives. In the long run, this will have bad influences on your brain and ability to think. Therefore, I strongly recommend learning to play chess or other brain games.

I recommend chess because it stimulates the brain well and teaches a lot of strategy, also the feeling you get when you beat someone is very motivating and will teach you discipline.

Some benefits of chess listed:
  • Develops perspective
  • Improves memory
  • Deepens focus
  • Elevates creativity
  • Boosts planning skills
  • Increases self-awareness
  • Protects against dementia
  • Helps ADHD

Other brain games are also useful and all can positively impact how well your brain functions, including memory, attention, thinking, language and reasoning skills.

Cucked if you don't play chess or other games that use your brain.

It has already started to happen for me, im having difficulty in trying to form phrases when i talk with someone and in general i feel like my mind is a maze

Dont be like me fellow .org users, train your brains, keep at least some human interaction in your lives

Better start stimulating your brain before you, turn into an incel zombie.

Nice keep it up

Im trying but lately i feel like my mind is not working as it should, im struggling to communicate with other people irl
How so?

Maybe its because i have isolated myself a lot the past 3 years, and now its rly difficult for me to have a normal conversation with someone. When i talk with a person, i have a lot in my mind, like how my voice sounds, what facial expression i should do or dont, what tone to maintain etc

I suck at chess

The only thing that helps in such cases is just doing it and having a disregard for how you will come across to people. If you will continue to focus on your minus points, after some time those will be the only things you will see. Fuck overthinking. All people are insecure, the only thing they do better than you is hide it.

Programming in HTML can only stimulate a peanut brain, no offense bro

Chess is a fun past time, but does it really increase your brain power or ability to think? You are playing by a clear set of rules created by someone that wants to put your mind into a box. You do realize that the best chess player is a computer—that by itself, has no ability to think. To become a great chess player is no different than learning a set of basic strategies. Even if you forego all the traditional books and just learn as you go, you’ll quickly find that you are still boxed in to a certain amount of actions/moves because of the structure of the game. For example, the pawn can only move forwards, not backwards, nor can it jump 3-4 spaces. You can maybe do 5-6 maneuvers, but is that truly thinking? Do you really want to be blocked into a system of rules?

I suggest if you truly want to increase your thinking ability to forego all brain training games and grab a pen and paper. Write and draw everything you can think of. Or better yet go outside and interact with the world, see what random occurrences can happen. Or meditate and think in your head things no one has ever thought of before. Do not limit yourself to a game of systematic rules and numbers. Imagine more, prioritize function over structure. Autists tend to like rigid games like chess because it is easier for their minds to focus on a clear set of rules, instead of truly opening their minds to what is possible.

Tldr: don’t limit yourself to a game with boxed in rules. Instead, stretch your imagination through other means like creative painting or something
