Why is a thinner upper lip part of the golden ratio?

I have equal size lips but I read that a thinner upper lip is part of the golden ratio, and now I don’t know how to feel about that.

there's good looking guys both with and without a full upper lip... doesn't matter as long as it's not huge or uber thin
