Now you may ask, why does blonde work better on average for guys compared to ginger? Because most attractive blonde men who are used as examples are tanned, which evens out their colouring with darker skin.

Also, blonde hair signals to the world that you have aryan/northern european ancestry, which is highly desirable whether or not people want to admit it. The same cannot be said for gingers, who only remind people of the bullied irish and funny-sounding scots.

I get where you’re coming from, but you don’t need to overdo it. Even one shade darker increases appeal a little, but as long as you aren’t pale as a ghost I’m sure you’re alright.

Plus, what I failed to mention (which you’re probably aware of already if you’re ginger) is that you have strong niche appeal. Sure, the percentage of women who like gingers is low, but those who like them REALLY like them, which isn’t a bad tradeoff at all.

Sure there’s the phrase “Ugly women and bad food make the British great sailors” but it’s not a common take these days.

From my recent experience at UK universities, there isn’t any notable difference in how the average young man and woman look. The only thing that comes to mind is that the women are more likely to be overweight, but this still only applies to about 5-8% or so.
