Why is everyone on reddit obsessed with being a "good person"?

They can't go fucking 5 minutes without mentioning something about being a "compassionate human being" or call someone a "horrible human being" or some shit similar to that.
They fail to realize that them being "kind" and "empathetic" are only illusions, everything every human does is inherently selfish, they are only kind and empathetic because it makes THEM feel morally superior and gives them the illusion of being a "good person" which makes THEM feel good, and then, again, fail to realize that it only makes them feel good because subconsciously their mind thinks that it increased its chance of survival/reproduction because throughout human evolution our brain got used to subconsciously thinking like: Being kind to others = There's a chance they will help us if we need something which helps our survival = our brain releases feel good hormones when we are kind.

I would actually say they are a tiny bit above avg iq (100-110 range), just very diluted on how the world actually works
