Men could care less with who they mate with since they just stick their dick into a girl for few minutes, where as in a woman will be handicapped for the following 9 months (being pregnant will severely restirict your athletic capabilities, which is needed in survival), she will have to increase her nutrition intake (food is scarce in the jungle) not to mention giving birth to a child itself naturally is something not easy, back then it was common for women to die during/after childbirth due to blood loss as there was no medical care available. When you consider all these factors women will biologically driven towards picking the best male for mating due to all risks involved.

However, women are not meant to be the selectors, in not a single mammal species women get to be selectors of genes, since even genetically weaker men are capable of overpowering women and raping them.

When we formed society in order to keep both sides happy (women not getting raped, and lower end men not being left alone) we pushed enforced monogamy (via religion and traditional aspects like shaming sexual promiscuity) so everyone wins. Obviously just very recently things have started falling apart to some degree.

Can you blame women for it? Not really, since it's just thousands years worth of evolution coded in our DNA. You should blame the ones on top for letting this happen.

Men in the past 20 years or so can hardly act on their desired looks hypergamy. Now that social media and the internet etc. has given all these women an easy way to have Chadlites or at least a tall in shape HTN bang them they have no use for average and lower level looks men. Its starting to really affect them starting families etc because they think just because a good looks guy banged them they should be able to marry one also which gets them frustrated and turns quite a few into cat ladies later. Its bad for society that is for sure. Many average looking guys that arent in a LTR by the time they leave college will feel the full effect of female hypergamy.

It's not going to change the evolutionary track at all. Girls still settle down and have kids with the put-together betabuxx smart guy (ideal future evolutionary trait in technological society). Evolution is soon irrelevant, we can genetically engineer babies, people date without the goal of reproduction with plenty of guaranteed protection from contraception, We are within a few generations of mind uploads, and biological immortality via DNA repair and other age reversal treatments.

It wouldn't surprise me if Apps fix hypergamy by giving guys rating systems that follow them across apps via facial recognition. This way, people will be able to see your ratings from past girlfriends, and see how many partners you've had.
