Having people awe at you and want to be around you for your looks is an amazing feeling.

But having people around your wanting you to spend your money on them is an absolutely horrific feeling.

I thought about this. most likely because you can lose your money or someone can take it from you (especially those that are treating you well because of what you own) which can create some low level anxiety that is always present. the same can't be said for looks however, and although people do lose their looks its quite rare that there is a sudden drop in looks, and is usually more gradual and expected, which most people are mentally prepared for

and also because you have to continue to work hard to keep money coming in, while most gl people don't put too much effort/thought into their looks

the same also applies for social skills and charisma. completely free and can have the same/similar effect on your life as looks

this too. media has created the idea that gaining respect through money is dishonest somehow, when ANYONE can earn money through hardwork and perseverance. ironic considering how much society pushes the narrative of hard work and sacrifice yet everyday the resentment that the average person has for people with money grows everyday
