Why is jaw surgery so cheap in France? What's the catch?

I just want a consultation to review and improve the surgical plan, and of course, I’m happy to pay for it.
Your surgeons have a lot of bad reputation and are extremely expensive, and my orthodontist doesn’t work with them. So, what about just a consultation?
Also, I’d really appreciate hearing your opinion on the other questions I’ve asked.

Consult fee not worth my time at all.
All surgeons have complications end of story. Botchless surgeon is a laughable fantasy some people here have.
The vast majority of bimax/implant cases are successful. Bigger surgeries (unnatural size implants, lefort 3) have higher complication rates.

Of course, every surgeon has some botched cases, so why shouldn’t I choose a more affordable option with a reputable university hospital?

For me, the real issue is the planning. Next week, I’ll talk to my orthodontist and find out if he uses custom guides and custom plates.

It’s not about my ortho and his surgeon specifically, but I’ve seen that many surgeons don’t aim for very aggressive or aesthetic results. So I just want to make sure my outcome will be aesthetically satisfying.

And if adding custom titanium infra-malar implants is an option, I’m definitely willing to do it. I just need to discuss it with my doctor.
