Why is narrow waist ideal in men(and women)?

Blocky waists generate more power/strength. Can’t name any evolutionary advantage of having a thin waist.
What makes V-taper ideal?

Thin waists are simply more aesthetically pleasing

Evolutionary functionality doesnt always correlate with aesthetic appeal i guess
