Why is objectifying people considered a bad thing?

What is wrong with objects? People are only offended by it because they think they are superior to objects which is quite frankly disgusting. Just because something lies below you on the sentience spectrum does not mean you are better than it

Whats worse is how they think them being sentient somehow makes them exempt from recieving the base treatment a non sentient object would recieve. If i have a simple need that you as a person can resolve, whats the problem with using you this way?
