I woke up this morning after doing a workout last night I slept one side of my bed instead of on my back could this be the problem.

I've got the same problem. I'm guessing it's because one of the muscles is larger?

Hm I'm going to try to sleep on my back and increase the intensity on that one side of my neck and decrease the intensity on the other

thats literally impossible. you prob have a side you prefer to carry the groceries and thus got more hypertrophy on one side of the trap

'one is connected to the neck one isnt' thats not a thing bro its just more hypertrophy on one side more
