Why is speed so addictive to humans?

Whatever it is, a vehicle, a device, even a skill human beings love speed, why?

idk why I just know I love when I can perform some skill at a higih level like in guilty gear or guitar hero or fighting

perhaps because it means that you're very good at something

Even with stuff that requires no skill though, like it feels fun af to sit in a rollercoaster for example.

But if the rollercoaster was going at 3mph it would be boring
