Why is the idea of "Karma" so big when it's such an obvious cope?

It's such a naive cope, you don't even need to be high IQ to know it's one of the biggest copes ever but so many people keep referring to it like it is a fact. Seems very jewish as well like we shouldn't punish people as a society for bad actions and just let them be.

I'm sure most people who use the term know it is as well but it's still annoying, your childhood bully didn't get a shitty job because he was a bully, he was unlucky or an idiot, and the vast majority of assholes live a 99.9% normal life with many even being successful from it.

So it also takes away responsibility to give people justice since somehow whatever "God" or "fate" will do it for them. No nigga they need prison not to be forgotten about.

One of the main reasons I don't believe in an organized religion ngl since basically all push the idea of "karma" as truth when it's a very old and very obvious cope.

If there’s a cope, people will use it; it doesn’t matter how stupid said cope sounds.

Fair enough. It just seems so obvious to see through it would barely even work as a cope, it takes maybe 5 seconds of retrospection to see how dumb it is, but if it works and makes people happy I guess it's better for them to just keep using it.

It’s because you’ve dumbed it down. If I dumbed down God to be a supernatural figure who made the entire universe out of boredom and picked one random rock to care about, you’d also find the idea ridiculous.

People cope by any means necessary to escape life’s meaninglessness. Humans are cowards and fear being left in solitude to think.

I'm a Deist, I think there was an intelligent, eternal creator but they do not interfere in our day to day lives, and have no effect on our afterlife or fate.

Fair enough. What would you consider the idea of "Karma" to be in its complex form however? Even then it seems very doubtful if you've ever interacted or heard of what terrible people do, maybe unless you consider an afterlife but I guess I'm looking at this from a pretty biased perspective.

It’s far too broad a term. Some people have very soft-core beliefs about it where karma is just a tendency to punish bad and reward good, not a mandatory law that must be fulfilled. Others believe it is a supernatural force guided by something humans cannot understand; the punishment some miss out on in this life is to be granted in another lifeform.

The latter is just as faithful as any other faith one would subscribe to.

Because making up things to pretend that the world is just in the end is more comforting for the normie than accepting that life is unfair and that good often (usually) goes unrewarded and bad often goes unpunished. Also this belief is convenient as it promotes prosocial behaviour

Yeah, I understand the general idea. It just seems so hard to believe however that it wouldn't be useful as a cope, at least for me. It's like if I desperately believed my car was red instead of blue (when literally everyone else refers to it as blue) or something equally as ridiculous but as the above poster said I think I dumbed it down in my head due to bias.

Doesnt help that karma is an idealogy that originated in the same shithole rape capital that has a national pastime of rape that is STILL a rape shithole today. Interesting, isnt it? By their own logic theyre being "punished"..
