why is the internet full of so many bots now?

made a post on reddit 2 hours ago and received several replies within 5 minutes. the messages all had very similar structure and wording

i checked those accounts and they all had like 0 posts and 999+ comments despite the account only being like a week old. many of the replies are copy and pasted too

seriously what the hell is going on? it seems like bots have taken over like half the internet at this point

I don’t even get why though, I mean sometimes they plug porn or can girls but other times they will do NOTHING

yep. im seriously convinced much of social media is fake and manufactured outrage. every controversial post, especially about politics, is flooded with bots and trolls trying to spread an agenda or something. It’s insane
