Why is there no gonial osteotomy to flare jaw angles out ?

What's the anatomical aspect that prevents maxfac surgeons from cutting gonions only and moving them in such a way that would generate desirable angularity ?

Knowing chin wings can perform such cuts :

... why not going for a cut like below to fix so-called "inward gonions" ? You can then imagine a variety of movements and segmentations to attain the desired result, akin to chin osteotomy.

The masseters are pretty large muscles. My guess would be cutting only a small corner and then repositioning it would impact the way force is applied to it. I can’t really explain it but I’d guess it’s just too small of a tweak . Compared to just placing and implants there. Usually it’s best to fix things as a whole instead of just one small piece

The cut exists but it isn't used for flaring.

Flaring probably not possible because of the masseter attachment point onto the lower border of the mandible.
